BARCA carries out social impact assessments that identify the company’s impact on the community, such as employment opportunities, social security and equal opportunity compliance, support in community projects and forest protection (biodiversity, soils, water resources and scenic beauty) in neighboring communities.
We aspire to create a positive social impact by keeping our operations within the legal framework in all aspects related to occupational health and safety. We also aim for the protection of forest benefits through the conservation of buffer zones, the biodiversity of flora and fauna and the maximization of aesthetic beauty.
One of our main principles is the respect for the culture and traditions of the community; therefore we have supported community projects with neighborhood organizations, health centers, schools and municipalities in the towns closest to our projects.
